Neocore B2 10.1 Inch Tablet Review

Out of all the different brands and sizes of cheap tablets that are available, Neocore models have some of the highest review scores out of them all. The B2 looks tipped to follow that trend. However, it should be noted that it's little brother, the B1, has had its share of bad reviews lately. And what was once an excellent reviewer rating, has now dropped to four stars out of five. This is still a good score, but due to being spoilt by Neocore's high reliability rating for many years, it is a slight disappointment, and I hope they aren't slipping!

But that's why new products are released, they've been taken back to the drawing board. An upgraded model has, hopefully had many of the little niggles that were present in the previous model addressed. And that's where the B2 comes in. It's surprising that the B2 is not very well known, even in the UK. The more popular models, like the N1 and E1 dominating the listings on Amazon and other outlets. So perhaps its just a case of this one slipping under the radar.

Neocore B2 10.1 Inch Tablet Review

The B2 is not the highest specification tablet in it's price bracket, but like all the Neocore's, it's definitely up-there with the most stable and reliable. And really, at this low-end price bracket, that is, or should be, one of the most important things. You may get a higher specification for around the same price, but how many headaches will it bring you down the line due to the fact that certain software or hardware isn't 100% compatible with each other.

And the only reason for the crazy high spec is to be able to grab the attention of bargain hunters who love a good deal. On paper (the computer screen) the spec is a huge selling point. People see Octa Core this, Marshmallow that, and that's it. Here's my money! But how long do many of these products last. A lot of them are riddled with issues. Annoying ones too. Don't get me wrong, they're not all like this, but you have to tread carefully, specially within the cheapest price categories. Remember, corners have to be cut somewhere, or else the business / company selling the product wouldn't make any money. And if, at this price, the specification is ridiculously high, then other aspects / components will suffer to make up the difference. There's only so far you can stretch out of a profit margin when the product doesn't cost a lot.
.
Anyway, that's enough about that. They way I'm talking is like the B2 is from the year 2000!. Don't worry, it has some great features. It's actually a brilliant device, with a great specification for the price. Spec includes a Quad Core Processor running @ 1.3GHz each Core, 10.1 Inch IPS screen, Mali 400MP2 graphics processor, 1GB RAM (DDR3), WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual cameras, SD card slot, a meagre 8GB built in hard drive, and a great battery life.

The 8GB of storage is a bit of a hindrance, and you will run out of space quickly. So, the almost instant additional purchase of a new SD card will be essential. They are cheap to buy so its not too big of a deal. 64GB should be more than enough to keep most people going for a while. Tight on funds? A 16 or 32GB will be enough to last a while as long as you're not a film hoarder or Youtube uploader. Those two sizes can be picked up very cheap.  The Neocore B2 is compatible with SD cards with a maximum storage capacity of 128GB. Not quite on the same level as the newest model N1 and E1 @ 200GB, but not far off.

Connectivity includes a Micro USB port, micro SD slot and the headphone jack. This model has no HDMI port and no slot to house a SIM card. However, it is able to function with an external 3G dongle when plugged into the USB port. And, you can always use a wireless HDMI connection (WHDI) if that's a feature you really need in a device. Out the box, It's running on Android Lollipop, but should be a quick and easy upgrade for most people to update it to Android 6.0.

This is a great tablet for general usage. It has a respectable Processor, a good graphics processor, and a really nice sharp, high definition screen. All the ingredients for making a good device to watch movies and clips on. The touch screen is responsive, and so is it's overall quickness when performing the day to day tasks. A good little multi-tasker that offers excellent value for money. Add a 64GB memory card and you have yourself a nice little workhorse. Another model well worth considering is the C1. The 2 year UK warranty that's included (with all models) also makes the deal that bit more better. You can't really go wrong. Excellent value.
