Onda V919 3G Air 9.7" Retina Tablet

The Onda V919 Air is looked at by many as a cheaper alternative to the Apple iPad Air range. Putting them next to each other, there's no denying it, they look very similar. And the specification of the V919, on paper, is very impressive. Super crisp 9.7 Inch Retina display, 2GB RAM, 3G, Dual Operating Systems (Android + Windows 10), Dual Cameras, 64GB eMMC Storage and a massive 2048 x 1536 resolution. It also has HDMI + WIDI outputs.

The display on this tablet is really good. The transition between operating systems appears to be fairly hick up free, and it feels great in the hand.

So what's the problem.. Well, as far as overall functionality and stability goes, it seems to have a few more areas of concern when compared to an original Apple iPad Air.  Onda V919 reviews are a crazy read. For a product that looks and sounds the part, it really should fare a bit better when it comes to buyer reviews. Some are happy campers, but a considerable majority are not that pleased. And that's a shame. Specially when you consider the price and what else is available for this amount of money. Like the excellent Samsung Galaxy Tab A and E, HUAWEI MediaPad M2, and even some of the older iPad's.

However, the model with just Windows 10 OS (not Dual + 4GB RAM) does score much better with customers. Looking for a good Windows 10 Tablet / workstation with keyboard included? Check out the Linx 12V64. But there is still a lot of confusion surrounding the product. The specifications are not listed correctly. So when buyers receive their Onda they are disappointed to discover that the specification in the listing is not the same as what they have received. Numerous people bought this model so that they could put their SIM card inside and make use of it inside the tablet. So as you can imagine, this creates a major annoyance when the product arrives and the SIM card slot is "missing".

Speakers are not great, and the battery duration is slightly below average. A good effort but not really one worth taking the risk on when you look at how many good tablets are out there which are around the same price. Saying that, none of them are perfect, they all have some bad reviews, and there are some very happy Onda V919 Air users out there who would say, yes, buy one. So perhaps it could be worth the purchase if you end up being one of those happy customers. As with most tablets, it's luck of the draw I suppose. And I'm very hard to please. If I see bad reviews I don't like it. Maybe I'm being too harsh. And that's probably because I had high hopes and wanted it to be perfect.

Side note: The V919 has dropped in price recently, and for that price it really is worth taking a chance on. Also worth considering.. Although nowhere near perfect, the Teclast X98 Air II seems the slightly more stable device. Got the doe? The V989 has a huge spec, some excellent reviews, and is certainly worth looking at.
